Idaho Preferred
Idaho Preferred is a program managed by the Idaho State Department of Agriculture to identify and promote Idaho food and agriculture products. The brand champions the idea for Idahoans to support the local economy with the everyday choices they make at the store.
The strategy is a one-two sell of connecting the rational logic of supporting your local communities with the emotional component of making fresher and tastier food choices when you buy home-grown products.
Since the program’s launch in 2004 statewide consumer awareness is already at 40% and 200 farmers, ranchers, fruit growers, winemakers and specialty food companies have joined on as members.
