Big Bear Lake
Big Bear Lake is Southern California’s only true four-season mountain resort with fishing and water sports in the summer and two full-service ski resorts in the winter. The 200-member Resort Association, consisting of lodges, hotels, ski resorts, marinas and restaurants, enlisted us to help ramp up marketing efforts to attract visitors to the Big Bear Lake region.
The thematic “Live It. Up” inspires and motivates outdoor enthusiasts to reap the benefits of an all-season escape out of SoCal city doldrums for some full-on fun. Graphic elements were informed by various National Forest trail signs at Big Bear Lake. The key elements of the logo include a newly revised “bear” icon, with the brand designation “Mountain Lake Escape,” which describes the heart of the brand. The shield icon allows for a versatile identity system to help communicate certain activities or marketing objectives.
For a more member-focused experience, the website was redesigned with individual detail pages for each of the association members. And an easy-to-use Content Management System (CMS) was also developed so members can easily update content, events, maps, alerts, banner ads, and more.
The new Big Bear Lake website launched in mid-February 2011. Since the improvements to the digital experience and the re-brand, time on site, page views, and pages per visit are all up by double digits. Rick Shoup, President and CEO of Big Bear Lake had some nice words for us as well saying, “Our new brand captures the essence of Big Bear as a mountain getaway for families and healthy, outdoor-oriented individuals.
